Gerrard favourite, Klopp signing's brother - free agents Liverpool could target after deadline
Despite rumours suggesting otherwise, Liverpool ended up having a quiet January transfer window in terms of new signings. The Reds did not add any new players to Arne Slot's squad since the turn of the year, despite several rumours that the opposite would happen.
Liverpool were credited with an interest in a host of players that were tipped to move to Anfield before Monday's 11pm deadline. As it is, Federico Chiesa remains the only new signing in the Reds squad since Slot was named as the club's head coach last summer.
Despite the transfer window closing, Liverpool still have the chance to complete some new signings should they wish to do so. The free agent market is something the Reds should be familiar with, especially given three of their current stars - Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk - are all out of contract at the end of the season as things stand.

Even though the transfer window is closed, Liverpool could still sign free agents, provided they have not represented another club since the deadline. There are several players that fit that description that could be worth keeping an eye on in the days and weeks ahead - although it would be a surprise to see Liverpool swoop for any of them.
Former Sevilla star Wissam Ben Yedder remains a free agent after leaving Monaco last summer. The 34-year-old scored 20 goals for the Ligue 1 outfit last season but is still searching for a new club, which could be an option for teams looking for a versatile centre-forward.
One player Liverpool may know quite well is Ryan Kent, who left Anfield to sign for Rangers in 2019, who were then-managed by Steven Gerrard. The 28-year-old is now without a club after he left Fenerbahce by mutual consent in September last year.
Another player that remains a free agent is former Barcelona star Rafinha. The 31-year-old, who is the brother of ex-Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, left Al Arabi in Qatar last summer after spending two years at the club following his exit from Paris Saint-Germain.
Other notable free agents include former Leicester City centre-back Daniel Amartey and former Tottenham Hotspur right-back Serge Aurier.
