Glenn Ferguson leads the tributes following the passing of legendary Linfield clubman Andy Kerr
Former Linfield striker Glenn Ferguson has led the tributes to one of the club's longest ever serving members of staff, Andy Kerr MBE, following his sad passing.
Mr Kerr spent 53 years at the Blues as part of the backroom set-up at Windsor Park serving under 14 managers during his time.
Dubbed 'Mr Linfield, he only stepped down from his role in 2020 with the club honouring his service to club by giving him the title of honorary team attendant as well as making him honorary Vice President and was given life membership of the club upon his retirement.

Linfield announced on Monday that Mr Kerr had sadly passed away with the club's Head of Youth Academy and former striker, Ferguson, leading the tributes.
He said: “It is with great sadness to hear of the passing of an absolute Linfield Legend in Andy Kerr MBE. Having got to know Andy when I signed for Linfield and knowing his devotion and dedication to the club, he will be a massive loss to the Linfield family.
“Andy was a great supporter of our Linfield Academy , attending games regularly of the various age groups .Andy Kerr was a man I had the utmost respect for and his loss will be massive to his family and to the wider Linfield family. Thank you Andy for all your support. Rest easy Legend.”
Andy, was the brother of former Chairman Jim Kerr, with the club's current chairman Roy McGivern also paying a heartfelt tribute to one of the Boues legendary figures.
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Honorary Team Attendant and friend Andy Kerr MBE," he said. "Andy gave over 50 years loyal service to Linfield Football Club and was a hugely popular member of our backroom staff over those five decades.”
“I am aware that he also helped out with many of our other teams at the club and he accompanied us to Flanders with the Linfield Academy on a number of our memorable pilgrimages to remember the Linfield Fallen. Andy also served in the Forces himself and he was such a wonderful character to have around the club.
“He remained a loyal supporter and regular visitor to Windsor Park in recent times and he will be sorely missed by everyone at the club. We convey our deepest sympathy to his family and, in particular, to his brother and former Club Chairman and Honorary Vice President Jim Kerr.”
