Glentoran ace David Fisher seeking more 'goosebump moments' as he hails club's fans
David Fisher is hoping for more 'goosebump moments' this season as Glentoran go in search of major silverware success.
The Glens have already booked their place in the County Antrim Shield decider, and on Tuesday night they take on Ballymena United in the quarter-finals of the BetMcLean Cup.
The East Belfast men remain unbeaten in cup competitions this season, and have climbed to second spot in the Irish Premiership thanks to a recent upturn in fortunes.

But Fisher insists consistency will be key to any silverware ambitions in the weeks and months ahead.
“We’re on a good run right now, but Declan has made it clear that we need to keep pushing hard and not get complacent. The lads are fully focused on taking things one game at a time and this quarter-final tie is a massive step towards achieving some silverware this season," he said.
“Friday’s win over the Welders in the Irish Cup wasn’t straightforward, but it showed the character and determination we have in this squad. Everyone is pulling together and working hard for each other, and that’s exactly what you need to succeed in cup competitions.
"The fans deserve to see this club competing for trophies and we’re determined to give them something to celebrate."
Tuesday's trip to the Showgrounds sees Declan Devine's side take on an out-of-form Ballymena United side. Jim Ervin's Sky Blues suffered a shock defeat to Ards in the Irish Cup on Saturday, but they have recorded a win against Glentoran this season.
That was back in September at the Warden Street venue, and Fisher insists the visitors are taking nothing for granted.

He added: “We know Ballymena will be a tough test, especially at their place. They’re a strong side with quality across the pitch, so we’ll need to be at our very best to get the result.
"It’s about staying focused, executing our game plan and bringing the same intensity and determination that have been key to our recent results. We’re on a fantastic run of form, and the belief in the squad is growing with every match.
"We’re determined to keep that momentum going and build on it as we continue to push forward this season.”
Fisher has bagged six goals and three assists this season but insists there is plenty more to come following his move from AFC Wimbledon back in 2023.
He said: “Since Declan came in, he’s been helping me improve all aspects of my game, and his faith in me has been amazing. Alongside the guidance from Paddy and Tim, I’ve been able to work on key areas of my game, and I’m always aiming to make an impact - whether that’s by scoring, creating chances, or putting in the hard work for the team.
“Scoring six goals this season has been a solid start, but I know there’s so much more to come. It’s about continuing to push myself, adding more goals to my tally, and contributing in every way I can to help the team succeed. Friday’s goal was a great confidence boost and I’m determined to build on that as we enter the second half of the season.”
Meanwhile, Fisher has heaped praise on the club's fans in helping the team get back on track this season.
The loyal support was out in force at Blanchflower Stadium on Friday night, with a healthy backing expected to make the trip up the A26 on Tuesday evening.
Fisher says some of the atmospheres this season have "given me goosebumps", highlighting "how special a club" Glentoran is.
"The fans have been absolutely incredible. Despite a gruelling schedule of away games in December, they turned out in huge numbers every time, creating an atmosphere that drives us on. Friday night against the Welders, in freezing conditions, was no different – their support was unbelievable," he said.
“When I came off against Portadown and walked around the pitch, the reception from the supporters gave me goosebumps. It’s moments like that which make you realise just how special this club is to play for.
"I’ve no doubt they’ll turn up in their numbers again at the Showgrounds on Tuesday night and once again cheer us on."
