Pep Guardiola made eight changes to his Manchester City side in the FA Cup - but none were injury related for once.

Erling Haaland, Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic were given rests ahead of Tuesday's massive Champions League clash with Real Madrid, with the likes of Bernardo Silva, Phil Foden and Kevin De Bruyne on the bench.

Ruben Dias made his return from injury at Leyton Orient, playing 45 minutes before making way for John Stones in a pre-planned change that gave both players a half each to give them a fighting chance to face Real.

However, there was no sign of Ederson after he missed last week's Arsenal defeat, while Oscar Bobb is still waiting to return for the first time this season.

This is the latest injury round-up from the Man City squad ahead of the Real Madrid first leg.

Nico Gonzalez

Injury: Hip

Gonzalez lasted just 20 minutes on his debut after his £50m deadline day signing, hobbling off after falling badly. Guardiola confirmed post-match that Gonzalez had taken a kick that was bad enough to come off but hopes that it was not serious enough to keep him out against Real Madrid.

Possible return date: Real Madrid (Feb 11)

Ederson

Injury: Fitness

The goalkeeper missed last week's defeat at Arsenal as he was not fully fit, and was still unable to travel to Leyton Orient six days later. Guardiola did rest some key players ahead of Real Madrid, and Stefan Ortega was likely to play in the cup regardless of Ederson's fitness, so City fans will hope the Brazilian's absence was precautionary rather than a sign of any more serious injury.

Guardiola will give an update

Possible return date: Real Madrid (Feb 11)

Jeremy Doku

Injury: Unknown

Guardiola hasn't publicly confirmed the nature of Doku's injury, only to say that the Belgian would be out for 'a while'. Guardiola had suggested the Arsenal game could have been a potential return date but Doku was missing at the Emirates and did not travel to Orient a week later.

It feels unlikely that Doku will be ready to face Madrid, with a home fixture against Newcastle following on Saturday.

Possible return date: Unknown

Nathan Ake

Injury: Unknown

Ake has missed the last six games with injury but Guardiola hinted at positive news regarding his missing players ahead of the FA Cup clash - with most training last week. So while Ake didn't travel to London on Saturday, his situation could be similar to Ederson's where he was not risked against the League One side.

Possible return date: Real Madrid (Feb 11)

Oscar Bobb

Injury: Leg

Bobb was closing in on a return last week after missing the whole season so far through a broken leg. However, he is yet to feature in a matchday squad and his absence at Orient felt telling as that would have been a perfect game for him to return.

Reports suggest he has suffered a minor setback in his recovery with an ankle issue which could put his return date back.

Possible return date: Unknown

Rodri

Injury: ACL

Rodri's injury has been well-publicised and he has spoken about returning before the end of the season - something Guardiola says would 'not be intelligent'. City want to give him as much time to recover and Rodri wants to come back as soon as he can.

He is currently in New Orleans for the Super Bowl and is continuing his gym work on his road to recovery.

Possible return date: Next season
