Gossip: Manchester United star Pogba 'makes Barcelona happy', Thierry Henry 'to reject Bordeaux' and more

Gossip: Could Manchester United star Pogba finally be tempted to leave Old Trafford after Mourinho’s peculiar press conference?

Does anyone know how many ‘Premiership’ titles Jose Mourinho has won? Asking for a friend.

Despite the Manchester United manager’s absolutely sane comments at the end of his press conference last night, definitely not at all indicative of a blind rage, it remains to be seen how his players view the outburst.

And, on a similar note, AS have politely reminded us that the European transfer window remains open until Friday with some leading quotes from former Red Devil Gerard Pique.

The Spanish World Cup winner has been talking about the goings-on at Old Trafford and it seems the players at the reigning LaLiga champions are interested in seeing Pogba join them.

Or at the very least indifferent to the idea.

Pique told the newspaper: “I’m not too aware of what’s going on with them, Pogba is a great player and he’s there.

“We’ll see if he changes clubs in the future, it would be nice if he came and would make us happy in the future, but we have to respect a player who is at Manchester United.”

Meanwhile, it would appear former Arsenal legend Thierry Henry is struggling to find the ideal job to kick-start his management career.

And who wouldn’t want to be in management after seeing what it has done to Mourinho?

Henry was said to be closing in on a move to Bordeaux to replace former Chelsea star Gus Poyet – only to change his mind at the last minute due to a ‘lack of funds’.

So it turns out that a club which was forced to suspend its last manager for an outburst over transfers is *not* an ideal starter ground for Henry.

Former Chelsea man Ramires, meanwhile, could be set for a return to Europe after a spell in the Chinese Super League with Jiangsu Suning.

Clearly influenced by the bizarre European cameo from Paulinho – he came back, he won LaLiga and strolled off into the sunset once more – the Brazil man is said to be close to joining Benfica on loan.

Closer to home, though, and it would appear those clubs in the Football League are peskily (is this even a word?) finding ways to bypass the English transfer deadline three weeks ago.

According to the Telegraph, 19-year-old Nottingham Forest striker Ben Brereton is set to join Blackburn on a loan which will become permanent for £7million.

So, to summarise. European clubs can complete permanent deals and Football League clubs can make loan signings (including obligations to buy) until Friday (August 31).

Seems to me there is one fairly obvious loser here.
