GRAHAM Potter has again confirmed his desire to bolster his forward-line this month after the new West Ham boss arrived to a striker shortage at the London Stadium.

Emmanuel Latte Lath is one of several strikers to have been linked with West Ham, who are understood to be keeping a close eye on the Ivorian's situation.

Boro and Atlanta United are progressing in talks over Latte Lath after the MLS club were the first to firm up their interest and table a bid for the striker over the weekend.

At this stage, it remains unclear as to whether West Ham will look to hijack Atlanta's move. Ipswich Town, who tried to sign Latte Lath on deadline day in the summer, are also in the market for a striker this month, though their initial priority is pushing through a deal to sign Aston Villa winger Jaden Philogene.

West Ham are without strikers Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio, while forwards Jarrod Bowen and Crysecio Summerville were also missing against Fulham on Tuesday night.

In the absence of those attackers, Potters didn't have a striker in his side, instead using Lucas Paqueta and Tomas Soucek as an unlikely pair to spearhead his forward line.

Both were on target, along with Carlos Soler – the Spain midfielder who was stationed on the left wing – as West Ham won 3-2 in Potter’s first home game in charge.

Latte Lath is one of several strikers to have been linked with West Ham, with others including Evann Guessand of Nice and RB Leipzig’s Andre Silva. The Hammers also reportedly had a bid knocked back for Aston Villa's Jhon Duran this week.

“If we can find a player that helps us and helps the team, then of course we will do that," said Potter.

“I think if we don’t, it’s my responsibility to try and find solutions with the players we have,” he said.

“I try to focus on the things I can control. It helps getting wins, it helps getting three points, it keeps us moving forward and now we have to prepare for another big game on Saturday.”
