GREENOCK WANDERERS made the most of the Christmas break by putting youth stars through their paces in a winter training camp.

Players within the under 16 age group were joined by some members of the club's under 13 and 14 stars as they put in some extra work off the pitch before their league games resume in a few weeks.

Over the last two weeks, youth stars took part in seven hour long sessions focusing in both strength and conditioning.

The sessions consisted of one hour of gym work and one hour of skill development within the confines of Fort Matilda. The club chiefs were blown away with the dedication shown over the course of the holidays.

A spokesperson said: "Over seven sessions during the holidays, youth members spent one hour in the gym and one hour on skill development per session.

"This extra dedication is all about staying sharp and game-ready when the action resumes.

"Well done to all the under 16's as well as a few of the under 13s and 14s who joined in for sessions, - your hard work will pay off."
