Grimsby Town come from behind to beat strugglers Carlisle United
Grimsby Town made a second-half comeback to beat Carlisle United 2-1 at home - their first win at Blundell Park in 2025.
Much like the victory at Bromley last week, it was Justin Obikwu and Danny Rose on the scoresheet for the Mariners in the second half to flip the game on its head after Sam Lavelle had headed the away side in front just five minutes in.
It was a defeat for Mark Hughes in his first game in charge of bottom-of-the-league Carlisle, but for Town, it was back-to-back wins that took them to within three points of the play-off places in League Two.

January signing Darragh Burns made the matchday squad for the first time as David Artell stuck with the back three shape, which was successful in the win away at Bromley last time out.
Jason Dadi Svanthorsson continued at right wing-back, with George McEachran coming in from the start for Curtis Thompson in the only change to the 11 from the Bromley game.
Justin Obikwu had an early sight at goal as Town recycled the ball from a free-kick, Svanthorsson’s low pass across goal falling to the former, who forced a save from Gabe Breeze down low to his right.
Town’s first chance of the game was saved, but the visitors scored with theirs, Carlisle skipper Lavelle heading in at the near post from former Mariner Elliott Embleton’s corner.
Carlisle kept up the pressure after going ahead, winning most of the second balls in midfield and finding joy down the flanks as they pushed to extend their lead in the first half.
The quality on the final ball was not quite there for Town as they looked for a way back into the game, but Danny Rose and Justin Obikwu were providing the energy up top, with the letter firing just wide with a shot from the edge of the box past the half-an-hour mark.
Evan Khouri thought he had levelled when he slid in for a rebound after Breeze saved another Obikwu shot, but the ball had ricocheted off Kieran Green before falling to Khouri, and he was offside.
Svanthorsson was slid in minutes after the disallowed goal after he took a free-kick quickly, but there was a crucial Carlisle intervention to stop his shot from going towards Breeze’s goal.
Town looked to push on after a string finish to the first half, but the visitors were inches away from extending their advantage when Kadeem Harris’ effort bounced off the inside of Jordan Wright’s left post, with bodies on the line to block the rebound effort.
As the clock ticked past the hour mark, Town did manage to get back level, Obikwu finding the net for the second match running as he received Evan Khouri’s pass in the centre of the box, turning and shooting in one motion past Breeze.
The Mariners continued to have territory, but chances were at a premium as the game remained on a knife edge. The threat for Carlisle to counter was always there, but they could not convert on the chances they had to break.
Alas, the opening came for Town in the 82nd minute, some quick thinking from a corner to catch the Carlisle defenders sleeping, Hume offloading quickly to Svanthrosson, who was brought down in the box for a penalty.
Rose converted from 12 yards to complete the comeback, giving Breeze the eyes and sending him the wrong way and wheeling off to celebrate in front of the Pontoon stand.
Charles Vernam provided a burst of energy off the bench as Town looked to see out the game, challenging Breeze with twice in quick succession, the latter almost producing the third goal as Rose was denied with a follow-up shot.
