'Gutsy performance...still need goals' - Blues fans on Port Vale clash
Carlisle United fans gave us their views on X after the 0-0 draw with Port Vale - here's a selection of their comments on the game.
A huge relief that they put last week's debacle behind them, looked much more together and were given space & time by Vale to put a few reasonable moves together. Still nowhere near where we need to be goal-wise but a decent result against a top 3 team. (@Rich_W27)
Better team by some way on the pitch today. Let down once again by not having anyone to put the ball in the net. Williamson's methods are slowly bearing fruit, but we do need those goals to get to safety. (@MikeEwins)
Against all odds a team was put out once again...it actually feels like there's more injured players than fit! Another point and better than none. #COYB (@LindaNi121202)
Much better but watching them playing out from the back is not doing my blood pressure no good. Nothing up front and defence still suspect, we need 6 points from the next two games to give us a fighting chance. (@peterjo91525330)
Hopefully a sign that Chesterfield was an off day and that grit and determination remains. Just need to find a way to get goals. (@parkinsonross)
Poor ref cost us that result. Goal after 3 minutes should have stood. We ground out that draw in the end, but we looked better than Port Vale (@adydent67)
Can't believe I'm saying this after last week's shambles - what a hard working gutsy performance. Same again next 2 home games (@ericgreen866)
Good battling performance overcoming illness in the camp and an inconsistent referee. Still lacking finesse in the final third and finishing quality. Hopefully sends the team into 2 crucial games with some belief 💙 (@tim_martland)
Win next 2 home games and it’s a great point (@keithelliott94)
A lot better than last weekend, we were the better team for most of the game. We just seem to have nothing in the final 3rd, but then again don't recall PV having many clear cut opportunities. Not bottom at Christmas, clean sheet, didn't give up. So onto a must win on boxing day (@skythelimit1970)
Another game of dropping points, Sadly. (@carlisl9125)
Good performance. We need to start winning though. But a point there is a good result. UTB (@AndyMortonPark)
Never a foul [the Armstrong decision], seen bigger collisions in the kitchen when I tell my mam I’m not doing the dishes. (@Bruntonpasty11)
