Steven Bradley won’t be dazzled by Friday night lights after playing under them for a year in Ireland, but hopes to shine at Hamilton Accies.

The 22-year-old winger hasn’t hit the heights that he wanted to this season, with a baby son in the summer making an obvious impact on his life.

But after netting three goals, Bradley hopes to hit the ground running in the second half of the Championship season.

Having played under floodlights during a season-long loan at League of Ireland Premier Division side Dundalk, Bradley is used to that, and aims to make an impression against Partick Thistle on Friday night.

“I played in Ireland on Friday nights, so I was used to that for a while,” said former Hibs and Livingston hero Bradley.

“I know night games can be a change of routine for a lot of people, but I had that for a full year, basically.

“I can adapt to that, and I feel like Friday night under the lights is a saying, but it’s on the TV, boys want to show what they can do.

“People are watching everywhere, so it’s a good chance for people to express themselves and play as well as they can.

A rare Lee Kilday goal gave Accies a 1-0 win over Thistle the last time they were in Hamilton, but they also succumbed to a 5-1 humbling at Firhill in November.

Bradley said: “We beat them here the last time, we know we can beat them here again. The game at Firhill was obviously disappointing, but we have to look at our form as well and how we’ve been playing.

“Thistle didn’t have a good result at the weekend [4-1 defeat to Dunfermline], so they’ll be looking to react and bounce back.

“But we just want to try and keep our run going.

“We’ve played well over the last few weeks and we want to keep that up.

“It’s obviously going to be a tough game, we know how good Partick can be – but on our day I feel like we can be as good as anybody in the league.”

On his own form, Bradley said: “I’m happy to get a few goals and just want to kick on now.

“The first half of the season was disappointing, I didn’t hit the ground running and that’s what I want to do in the second half now, and try and get as many goals and assists as I can.

“Hopefully that can push us up the table and get into the play-off spots.”
