Hamza Igamane, Brian Brobbey and three other strikers Everton could sign in January transfer window
A glance at Everton’s squad list tells you that they currently have four recognised strikers at the club. However, a multitude of circumstances have now pushed a new number nine quite possibly to the top of David Moyes’ January wish list.
A fresh injury blow has halted Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s promising start to life under the returning Moyes. He joins loanee Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti on the treatment table.
That leaves the Blues with just one fit and available senior centre-forward in Beto. But the £25million-man's future is far from certain with speculation that he is wanted by clubs back Italy after a frustrating start to life at Everton.

So, with seven days of the transfer window remaining, and with the February 3 deadline edging closer, we examine five strikers that could be on the Blues' radar...
Evan Ferguson (Brighton & Hove Albion)
It was not too long ago that Evan Ferguson was one of the most talked-about young forwards in the country. But since breaking through as a teenager, the 20-year-old has struggled to nail down a first team place at the Amex Stadium in recent times.
It has been well reported that the Ireland international is available on loan this month, with a host of clubs interested in England and beyond.
Everton would no doubt like to throw their hat in the ring given their present squad situation. But a deal would be difficult given they already have the maximum of two domestic loans in Jack Harrison and the injured Broja.
And in terms of a potential permanent move for Ferguson, the ECHO understands that despite the increased spending power going forward thanks to the takeover by The Friedkin Group, the club don’t have the finances to prepare a package of that magnitude in this window due to PSR constraints, making a deal of any type highly unlikely at this stage.
Hamza Igamane (Rangers)
Perhaps a more attainable option, Hamza Igamane has been reportedly been subject to interest from the Blues.
Brought to Europe for the first time last summer, the Moroccan has been on red-hot form in Glasgow. He has scored five goals this month alone, also impressing with his European performances
Igamane’s flair makes him a different type of striker to what Everton fans have been used to and an eight-figure bid could tempt the Ibrox hierarchy before the deadline.
Brian Brobbey (Ajax)
Similarly to Ferguson, Brian Brobbey has been linked with loan moves to several English clubs in this window, with Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United being mentioned.
The 22-year-old earned a spot in Ronald Koemann’s Netherlands squad at the Euros after an excellent 2023-24 campaign but has found goals much harder to come by this time around.
If the Blues were to win the race for Brobbey this month, and Moyes were to help rediscover his previous form, it could be a home run.
Taiwo Awoniyi (Nottingham Forest)
A double-digit goal return in his debut season established Taiwo Awoniyi as Nottingham Forest’s main striker upon their return to the Premier League.
But with Chris Wood in sensational form this campaign, the Nigerian has been forced to make 16 of his 18 league appearances from the bench.
Linked with West Ham earlier in the window, Awoniyi still boasts an impressive goal return in England’s top-flight. With Everton in the market, the former Liverpool man could represent a great opportunity before the deadline comes.
Danny Ings (West Ham United)
Having been signed by Moyes at West Ham two years ago, Danny Ings feels like the Blues' obvious ‘last resort’ option.
Ings joined the Hammers from Aston Villa, who had paid £30million for his services after an excellent spell at Southampton.
With Ings now 32, questions would likely be asked if Moyes were to bring the ex-Liverpool striker back to Merseyside, and it remains to be seen whether West Ham would let him leave given their own forward problems.
