The York team, new to both the Cup and the League, beat Nottingham Strix 22-31 at Sutton Bonington on Saturday night.
York Handball Club was pitted against a young and disciplined side.
The first 10 minutes of the match saw few goals conceded, with goalkeepers from both sides making a number of saves.

At the end of the first half, Nottingham was leading 11-10.
However, York emerged from the half-time break with fighting spirit, successfully defending and launching fast counterattacks led by Radwan and Andrei Avram.
