What happened inside Arsenal's Emirates Stadium after Darwin Nunez two Liverpool goals vs Brentford
It looked as if Arsenal would have the opportunity to cut the gap to Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table to just two points on Saturday.
With the Gunners in late action against Aston Villa, they watched on as leaders Liverpool were up first, facing Brentford in a 3pm kick-off. And it looked as if the game in west London was heading for stalemate, until Darwin Nunez scored two injury-time goals to secure all three points for Liverpool.
That meant the gap at the top widened back to seven points ahead of kick-off at the Emirates Stadium. It was this fixture last season that all but ended the Gunners' title hopes as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.

The game on Saturday night took on added importance as a result, with Arsenal needing the win to getm it back to just four points between the two title rivals.
Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville was on duty for the Saturday Night Football clash and he revealed what the mood was like inside the Emirates Stadium after Nunez bagged those goals for an all-important win for Villa.
Speaking during commentary, Neville said: "The crowd are up for it. Travelling up in the lift to this top tier to get to the gantry, those two Liverpool goals in the final minutes of that game at Brentford really did hurt Arsenal fans."
The Gunners faithful were in full voice with a rendition of North London Forever ahead of kick-off and a bright start in the match only served to keep the spirits high, despit what will have been a huge blow seeing Liverpool score those late goals to win at Brentford.
