Harry Kane's shock release clause details will concern Alan Shearer amid transfer talk
Harry Kane reportedly has a release clause in his Bayern Munich contract that could open the door for a future return to the Premier League. England international Kane, 31, has been a revelation since joining Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, scoring 70 goals in 72 games for the German outfit.
The Telegraph claims that Kane has a release clause in his current deal with Bayern Munich and would have been available for transfer in January for a fee of £67m. It is claimed that the clause will drop to £54m in January 2026.
However, the report adds that Kane is happy with life in Germany and is not looking to leave the Allianz Arena anytime soon. Premier League clubs, though, are said to be aware of Kane's release clause, which is likely to be crucial if he ever wants to return to England.

As part of the deal that took Kane to Germany in 2023, Tottenham included a first-refusal option if the England international was to ever leave Bayern Munich. That means that Spurs would have the option to match any bid and hope that Kane preferred a return to north London.
Before joining Bayern Munich, Kane was the subject of bids from Manchester City in 2021 and after that, regularly linked with a move to Manchester United. If Kane were to return to the top flight, that would set alarm bells ringing for Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer, with the former Spurs striker close to smashing his record for the most goals scored in the Premier League.
The forward scored 213 goals in 320 Premier League games between 2012 and 2023 and is just 47 goals shy of Shearer's record return of 260. Newcastle fans would love to add a player like Kane to their ranks, which would perhaps lessen the blow if he were to break that aforementioned record.
However, a move to St. James' Park is nothing short of a fantasy given Newcastle's need to comply with the Premier League's strict PSR measures and the general consensus is Eddie Howe's side will target a young forward in the summer to bolster their ranks.
Speaking after Kane's move to the Bundesliga Shearer joked he was 'f****** delighted' by the transfer in order to preserve his own record. The Magpies legend added: "We've got a WhatsApp group and there was a headline that came out the other day about Spurs having a buyback clause. Micah sent me one saying Alan question mark with laughing faces!"
