Harvey Elliott is attracting transfer interest from the Premier League and Bundesliga, according to a recent report.

The 21-year-old’s game time has been reduced this season due to injury, with a broken foot sustained in September ruling the player out for just under three months. Elliott, who thanked Arne Slot and his coaching team for easing him back after the injury, returned to the team in the 2-0 win over Manchester City on 1 December.

He has played in six of the last seven league games for Liverpool but all of those appearances have come off the bench, and Elliott is yet to start a Premier League match under Slot.

Despite Liverpool playing nine times since that City match, Elliott has started just once in that period - when he scored and was selected as player of the match in the 2-1 Carabao Cup win over Southampton.

There has been surprise among the fanbase that Elliott - who made 53 appearances last season under Jurgen Klopp - has not been afforded more minutes in recent weeks. It has now led to suggestions that a transfer exit is a distinct possibility.

Elliott’s lack of game time under Slot has 'alerted a number of clubs from the Premier League and Bundesliga' claimed Sky Sports on Thursday. It was suggested that clubs could test Liverpool's resolve this month - and in the summer.

Premier League rivals Brighton is mentioned among the clubs interested in his signature, with Borussia Dortmund also reportedly keeping tabs on him.

Elliott was an unused substitute against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday as Liverpool suffered a frustrating 1-0 defeat in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. It’s likely the former Fulham youngster will be handed a start this weekend in the FA Cup third-round tie against Accrington Stanley.

Elsewhere, it has been a quiet January transfer window so far for Liverpool, with the departure of Marcelo Pitaluga to Fluminense the only move confirmed in the first nine days of the market.
