Hearts confirm 'elite' hummel kit deal as Danes to produce Gorgie gear again two decades on
Hummel will produce Hearts' kits again, two decades after last linking up with the Tynecastle outfit.
The club have confirmed that the Danish sportswear company will once more be their official kit supplier after teasing a 'new direction' in recent club media videos. The current agreement with Umbro will come to an end this summer, with hummel taking over for the next five years
Hearts will become an "Elite Partner," meaning they will join as one of the manufacturer's top tier clubs, joining the likes of the Danish national team, Real Betis, Werder Bremen, Sunderland and 1.FC Koln. Elite status entitles them to bespoke designs for playing kit, training and leisure wear. The current deal with Umbro sees templates applied and designs picked from those rather than designed in conjunction with the club. It's also claimed that the new deal is worth significantly more than the previous one, following months of negotiations.

It's been 20 years since hummel first linked up with Hearts. They replaced Reebok as the club's kit manufacturer ahead of the 2005/06 season, shortly after Vladimir Romanov's takeover of the club.
And it proved to be an iconic campaign in the chevrons, with the Jambos threatening to break the Old Firm stranglehold on the league title after an electric start to the season under George Burley before Romanov pushed the self destruct button and sacked the Scot with Hearts top of the league and unbeaten.
They did lift the Scottish Cup and finish second that season. Hummel were again the suppliers for the following campaign as Hearts took on AEK in the Champions League qualifiers but were dumped out by the Greek side. That proved to be hummel's final season as kit supplier - until now - with Umbro replacing them for the start of the 2007/08 season.
