The Hearts fan group the Gorgie Ultras are boycotting the Premiership home clash against St Johnstone.

The bottom two go head-to-head at Tynecastle with St Johnstone in town to try and ensure Neil Critchley's side remain bottom of the pile at Christmas. The Jambos were dumped out of the Europa Conference League in midweek as Moldovan minnows Petrocub held them to a 2-2 draw in their 100th European tie and cost the capital club the chance of progressing.

Things aren't any better domestically with Hearts propping up the table. Critchley is on a run of one win in nine games and questions are staring to be asked of the man that was appointed following a data-led recruitment search, making use of Jamestown Analytics much heralded algorithm. CEO Andrew McKinlay and chairman Ann Budge have also come under fire for what is seen as a major misuse of resources given the cash being pumped into the club by fans every month.

And the ultras, who occupy the same section at the front of the Gorgie Stand for every home game have decided to take a stand. They've left a chunk of empty seats, although it's expected they'll be back in position for the Boxing Day Edinburgh derby.
