HEREFORD Pegasus have signed midfielder Matt Macdonald on a dual registration deal with Malvern Town.

Peggy boss Mark Hibbard said: “We’re over the moon to have Matt join us!

“He’s a player I’ve always admired and a play that has always caused us so many headaches when he has played against us.

“Matt is a strong and hardworking midfielder who certainly knows where the goal is.”

Pegasus were not in action this weekend and host leaders Hartpury University next weekend.

Meanwhile, Westfields saw their league game on Saturday against Worcester Raiders postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Felds are out of the Hellenic League Cup after they were beaten by Hellenic League Division One leaders Droitwich Spa 2-0 on Tuesday night.

Droitwich opened the scoring when striker Alex Dugmore turned smartly in the Westfields penalty area to beat Shay Sterry with a low drive.

Despite Fields mustering a response, the home side broke away to score on the counter-attack when Nathan Binner blasted the ball home from close range to put Droitwich 2-0 ahead.

Westfields tried hard to get back in the game and Owen  Taylor had a shot brilliantly saved by the Droitwich keeper.

Next was Ben Brooks who had a shot saved and Nathan Davies had a shot blocked by ex-Westfields defender Jay Saunston.

Westfields were lucky not to concede another goal late on when Sterry saved brilliantly as Droitwich finished the stronger side to go through to the quarter-finals of the Hellenic League Cup.
