Highest kick in rugby history causes chaos and leaves commentators in disbelief
As Matt Burton stuck ball to boot in the State Of Origin, the commentary team could not believe what they were seeing as the kick continued to rise.
"It's up there forever, it's the highest kick in history!" the commentator exclaimed as 52,000 Australian rugby league fans watched on in awe at the stunning sporting spectacle.
The kick went so high that the cameras inside the ground couldn't angle up quick enough to film the ball's entire flight.

The hang time on the bomb was unbelievable, and from the ball leaving his boot until its impact on the ground, almost seven seconds passed.
While the time may be impressive, it's the sheer height of the kick which is most startling. And it's no surprise that Queensland Maroons were unable to gather it, as it powered to the ground like an egg-shaped missile.

For those unaware, the State Of Origin is an annual competition which sees two state representative sides lock horns in a three-match series in Australia.
Burton was playing for New South Wales Blues on the day, and it's not the first or last time the man has delivered a kick of this ilk. So much so, that this type of kick has been nicknamed the 'Burton Bomb'.
Being a valuable player with a hammer of a boot, Burton is one of the best paid rugby players (in either code) on the planet, and takes home £500,000 (£247k) per season with Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
