'Get him on loan' - Rio Ferdinand makes fresh Man United transfer plea to fix Ruben Amorim problem
Rio Ferdinand has admitted he would like to see Manchester United try and sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen on loan before the end of the January transfer window.
The Nigerian international is currently on loan at Galatasaray and is scheduled to stay with the Turkish club until the end of the season. He joined them back in September after falling out with Napoli boss Antonio Conte.
Osimhen, 26, has scored 16 goals and registered five assists in 20 appearances for Galatasaray so far, including 12 goals in 15 league appearances.

The Nigerian is under contract at Napoli until June 2027, meaning the Serie A outfit still holds the cards over his long-term future. He signed a one-year contract extension prior to moving to Galatasaray.
Despite joining the Turks on a season-long loan deal, Ferdinand would love to see United swoop for Osimhen, outlining his former club's desperate need for attacking reinforcements amid Rasmus Hojlund's and Joshua Zirkzee's ongoing struggles.
"I've watched him [Hojlund] the last two games closely and I'm like, it just doesn't add up," said Ferdinand. "I'd be going to get Osimhen now.
"If we could do it from a financial standpoint, get him on loan, I'd go and get Osimhen now. [He] guarantees you somebody who can get on the end of things, scores goals, he's experienced, done it at the top level."
Having not featured for Napoli this season prior to joining Galatasaray, Osimhen can still play for another club this term in the event of Napoli recalling him and sending him elsewhere. FIFA rules state that players can only play for two clubs per season.
United have refused to rule out the prospect of adding to their forward line ahead of the window closing next Monday evening. They were weighing up a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani but he moved to Juventus on loan last week.
