Holloway nominated for League Two manager of the month
Swindon Town manager Ian Holloway has been nominated for Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for January after the team’s great run of form.
Having picked up four wins and a draw from the six matches in January, Swindon have shot up the table and they are now closer to the playoff places than they are to the relegation zone.
Holloway will be up against Bradford City’s Graham Alexander, who went unbeaten across five matches in the month, AFC Wimbledon’s Johnnie Jackson, who won eight points from four games, and Grant McCann, who won four out of their five fixtures.
Town began January in 21st place and three points above the top of the relegation zone but the continued improvement from the end of December saw them climb up to 16th by the end of the month.
Swindon have currently picked up more points than any other club in the top four leagues in England since the beginning of 2025.
The EFL explained Holloway’s nomination by saying: “January was the month in which Holloway’s methods brought greater defensive solidity to underpin Swindon’s attacking prowess. As well as 13 points from six games, their greater unity saw goals scored by eight different players.”
