Hot football transfer gossip: Harry Kane to Real Madrid, Chelsea eye Arsenal's Ox
Stand-in Boss of Goss Stanley Accrington discovers Tottenham's one of their own could become part of Zidane's revolution at the Bernabeu if the press is to be believed
Picture the scene: Tottenham kick off next season’s Champions League campaign at home to Real Madrid – with Harry Kane playing against them.
There are quite a few labyrinths to emerge from for that to happen but Kane turning out in a different white shirt, possibly alongside the Tottenham team mate he never played with - Gareth Bale - is a step closer today according to the Telegraph.
Kane has impressed the Real Madrid powers-that-be and is due an improved deal at White Hart Lane, something that just might persuade Spurs to offload another main asset to the Spanish capital following in the studmarks of Bale and Luka Modric.
Kane is currently valued at around £70m – or two Mesut Ozils in metric terms.
The Daily Star claims Bale definitely won’t be moving to Manchester United and that they will instead turn their attention to unhappy Chelsea wide boy Eden Hazard, a snip at around Kane minus £5m and a United ‘source’ told the Star: ‘Hazard is the type of player United need if they want to start winning trophies again.’
But here’s a Hazard warning for the Reds… Real Madrid also want him, according to the Telegraph, who say manager Zinedine Zidane will make him their top priority but the Belgian is delaying a final decision until he learns who Chelsea appoint as their permanent boss.
If Jose Mourinho gets a shock third term, expect Hazard to exit but the Express claim Didier Drogba’s arrival as a Stamford Bridge coach could convince Hazard to stay.
The Sun are already making plans for Chelsea after Hazard and suggest 22-year-old Arsenal benchwarmer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the man to fill the Belgian void.
Romelu Lukaku has expressed a desire to play in the Champions League and unless Everton get a spurt on they might be hard pressed to keep their in-demand striker.
Especially, as the Mirror points out, with Manchester United ready to offer the Toffees £40m for the Belgium forward who are attacking Champions League qualification on two fronts and whose Europa League campaign begins next month.
Goals will be flowing at the Theatre of Dreams next season it seems. Not only will United have Lukaku rippling the onion bag but the Sun also claims they have been told by Lazio to stump up £36m for free-scoring Brazil midfielder Felipe Anderson.
And finally Stoke City are ready to end Saido Berahino’s West Brom hell by offering him a deal at the Britannia Stadium reports the Guardian.
