Hot Football Transfer Gossip: Alexis 'wants to sign for Chelsea', Shaw 'desperate for Tottenham move', Man Utd 'target Oblak'

Most clubs draw up a list of players they want to sign in the summer, in order of preference. But when you’re Alexis Sanchez, you can draw up a list of clubs you want to join, in order of preference – because that’s how cool you are – and the Chilean has reportedly put Chelsea top of his.

The Telegraph says Arsenal’s unsettled forward has made Stamford Bridge his “number one choice” for a summer move, the Blues beating off competition from Milan, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Atletico Madrid, China and anywhere else he could go if he wants.

Instead, the Chilean would prefer to make the 10-mile journey from north to west London. It’s so much easier. He could still shop at Waitrose, he wouldn’t have to uproot his beloved dogs and he could also “fight for titles”, as he expressed a desire to do last week.

The problem is that Arsene Wenger would rather go on all-night bender in Fabric than sell his star player to the Blues so, if Alexis wants to Go West, the Telegraph he suggest he will have to “force his way” out.

And that – just like Arsene Wenger’s night out in Fabric – could get “potentially ugly”, with Arsenal making Sanchez run down the final 12 months of his contract against his – and, essentially, everyone’s – wishes.

Chelsea are also “intensifying” their search for a new right-back after Antonio Conte’s unsuccessful attempt to deploy Pedro there in Saturday’s defeat by Crystal Palace, says the Mirror.

Atalanta’s Andrea Conti, 23, and Hoffenheim’s 22-year-old Jeremy Toljan have reportedly been watched by Blues scouts in recent weeks. Who ever dreamed that a team would be relying on Victor Moses at right-back to win the league, eh.

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is said to be “desperate” for Tottenham to sign him in the summer and “save him from his Old Trafford hell”, says the Sun in typically understated fashion.

That move would be reliant on Spurs selling Danny Rose first, although Shaw probably isn’t fussy and would likely accept a move to Portsmouth as long he has

have to keep working (not very hard) with Jose Mourinho.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils could turn to Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak if they sell David de Gea to Madrid’s other club, although the Slovenia shotstopper’s £85m release clause sounds a tad prohibitive (Manchester Evening News).

Elsewhere, Liverpool are set to make a “surprise” move for Crystal Palace keeper Steve Mandanda (Telefoot), the Eagles and West Brom are interested in 25-year-old Sassuolo striker Diego Falcinelli (Talksport) and Leicester are concerned they could lose Wilfried Ndidi – dubbed the “new N’Golo Kante” – to Arsenal or Man Utd (Mirror). It doesn’t help when people keeping dubbing him the new N’Golo bleedin’ Kante.
