Griezmann, Draxler, Sanchez and Goretzka: On the move or staying put?

Paul Pogba’s bromance with Antoine Griezmann is legendary. They Whatsapp each other relentlessly, they pose for funny selfies, they enjoy training ground japes, they share stories, clothes and girls, and sometimes when the nights are cold they get under the duvet and snuggle. Besties forever.

Or so we thought.

Because today brings shocking revelations that a wedge has been driven between football’s most heartwarming double act. There is a new guy on the scene – and he has laid claim to Pogba’s boy.

“Yeah [Griezmann is my best mate], we are very good friends and have lots of fun,” this brazen homewrecker boasts in Match of the Day magazine, as reported by the Telegraph.

“Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz,” he continues – each word a dagger in poor Pogba’s heart.

Who is this smooth-talking super-chum? The clue’s in the nickname – it’s Alexandre Lacazette.

The Arsenal striker – a France international team-mate of Griezmann and Pogba – has declared that he, and not Pogba, is Griezmann’s BFF. And he has the Instagram pictures to prove it.

Encore eux !

But this is about more than the complicated relationships of young, hot-blooded men. It is also about transfers.

For most of this year it had been claimed that Griezmann’s friendship with Pogba would be the key to him signing for Manchester United from Atletico Madrid. But things have changed.

“If Griezzy visits me in London, I’m going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!” Lacazette concludes with the killer blow.

Could “Lacaz” help the Gunners pull off an incredible coup? Or will that hussy Griezmann choose Mamadou Sakho as his next BFF and end up signing for Crystal Palace?

Arsenal want Draxler for Alexis

In further exciting news for Arsenal fans, the club are reportedly planning another audacious swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez.

Having failed to get Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in August, the Star says Arsene Wenger will instead attempt to exchange the unsettled Chilean for Paris Saint-Germain winger Julian Draxler.

The Ligue 1` leaders would allegedly be “tempted” by the proposal and a deal could be done in January.

Sanchez’s fellow contract rebel Mesut Ozil could also quit the Emirates in the New Year, with the Mirror claiming Arsenal are keen to “cash in” on the German this winter rather than losing him for nothing at the end of the season. Internazionale remain keen.

Man Utd have been given a “transfer boost” after Barcelona pulled out of the race to sign Red Devils target Leon Goretzka, says the Manchester Evening News. The 22-year-old Schalke midfielder is one of the Bundesliga’s hottest prospects and is out of contract in the summer.

Elsewhere, Chelsea target Girogio Chiellini is set to snub a move to Stamford Bridge and sign a new contract with Juventus (Calciomercato), the Blues are battling with Man Utd to sign young Middlesbrough defender Dael Fry (Teamtalk) and Carlo Ancelotti will take a “10-month break” from football following his sacking by Bayern Munich (Gazzetta dello Sport). Unlucky, West Ham.
