Huddersfield Town's League One trip to Shrewsbury Town postponed after early pitch inspection
Huddersfield Town’s clash at Shrewsbury Town has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.
The Terriers had been due to face the third-from-bottom Shrews tomorrow afternoon, but freezing temperatures have made the pitch at New Meadow unplayable.
The hosts said earlier in the week that they were “closely monitoring” the pitch and had put covers on it from Tuesday morning, but the game was called off following a failed pitch inspection this morning.

A club statement from Town read: “We have today been advised that our League One away fixture with Shrewsbury Town at Croud Meadow has been postponed after the playing surface failed a pitch inspection.
“Scheduled to take place tomorrow, Saturday 11 January 2025, the surface has been deemed unplayable due to freezing temperatures across the country.
“Subject to a pitch inspection this morning, Friday 10 January 2025, the decision has been made with officials from the EFL and Shrewsbury Town present.
“Original match tickets will remain valid for this fixture and updates regarding a rescheduled date will be shared in due course with supporters.
“Supporters are advised to no longer make the journey to Shrewsbury this weekend, and we hope you continue to remain safe in the current inclement weather conditions.”
