Four-cap England international loosehead prop Beno Obano has sided a two-year contract extension with Bath Rugby, keeping him at The Rec until the summer of 2027.

The 30-year-old joined the Blue, Black and White in 2014, making his Premiership debut against Exeter Chiefs in early 2015. Earlier this season, the loosehead prop reached a landmark 150 appearances for the club in the home game against Sale Sharks. In his decade of service at Bath, Obano has scored 16 tries.

Obano has played four times for England since making his first international appearance against Scotland in 2021 and has been unlucky to not add further caps.

Bath’s Head of Rugby Johann van Graan said: “Beno has become such a consistent performer for Bath in the number one jersey. His power in the scrum and maul, along with his ability to carry the ball and his tackling make him a huge presence in our team. Beno’s naturally infectious personality off the field, coupled with his playing talents, means we are truly fortunate to have such a quality individual at the club.”

Obano added: “When you’re working with, and for, great people, it makes decisions fairly uncomplicated.”
