Ten years after the unexpected death of Swindon teen Rhiannon Brown, hundreds gathered for a memorial football match in her name.

The 15-year-old former Dorcan Academy pupil died on January 21, 2015, after falling unexpectedly ill and being rushed to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

While her life was cut tragically short, Rhiannon's bravery and selflessness, which only became apparent after she had died - even to her father Jason, helped to save the lives of three other people.

This was because Rhiannon had signed up to be an organ donor without her father knowing, who only found out about it when a hospital consultant told him at the time.

An 11-year-old boy was among the three people whose lives were saved as a result.

Over 300 people went to Foundation Park to see the game which raised £1300 for Rhi's Goals legacy fund which aims to support young female players in the county.

A spokesperson for Swindon Town FC Community Foundation said: "What an amazing day yesterday to celebrate the life of Rhiannon Brown.

"A record crowd at FP of over 300 attended the event which saw Darcy Brown score the decisive penalty.

"Thank you to everyone who attended which enabled us to raise an incredible £1300 for the Rhi’s Goals fund."
