Hugo Salabio makes Hull FC pledge as Richie Myler explains merits of latest signing
Hugo Salabio is determined to make the most of his 'amazing' opportunity at Hull FC. The French international forward has signed a two-year deal at the Black and Whites, becoming the club's 10th new signing for the 2025 season.
The 24-year-old was released by Huddersfield Giants on Monday and, as previously reported by Hull Live, has been training with the Black and Whites this week, who have been determined to add another prop to their squad for several weeks. And they've now found their man, with Salabio, who stands at 6 feet 4 inches and weighs over 100 kg, adding further size and competition to the pack.
As well as the Giants, the prop has previously played for Toulouse Olympique, Catalans Dragons and Wakefield Trinity, not to mention Saint-Esteve XIII Catalan and Pia Donkeys in the French Championship. He joins fellow recruits Jordan Rapana, John Asiata, Jordan Abdull, Aidan Sezer, Zak Hardaker, Cade Cust, Ollie Holmes, Amir Bourouh, and Ed Chamberlain.

"I am excited to join Hull FC," Salabio said on his move. "This is an amazing opportunity for me to continue my development, and I can’t wait to represent this historic club. I want to give my best to contribute to the team’s success, and I look forward to connecting with the fans over the next couple of years.
"Working with John Cartwright is a big opportunity. He’s got a lot of experience, and I’m confident that he will help me reach the next level in my career. I can't wait to learn from him.
"The past few years have been full of learning, and I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far. My goal now is to use this experience to help the team and keep improving personally."
Meanwhile, Richie Myler has outlined what Salabio could bring to Hull over the next couple of years, with the club's director of rugby backing the player to make the most of his move.
He added: "We've been actively looking to add some depth to our pack for some time, and Hugo fits the bill for us in that regard. He is a big body, and he brings some big size to our prop options.
"He's still quite raw, but he'll add some aggression to us, and he's got some promising physical attributes that really excite us. We're looking forward to seeing him link up with us over the coming weeks as we move towards 2025."
