Hull City agree transfer deal with Championship rivals to sign international defender
Hull City are in talks with Burnley over a deal to sign experienced defender John Egan with the club keen to add some valuable Championship experience to their defensive ranks.
Egan joined the Clarets last summer after leaving Sheffield United having played more than 200 times for the Blades in the Premier League and Championship.
City are understood to have agreed terms with the 32-year-old centre-back which would see the Tigers pay a nominal fee to Burnley to get the Cork-born player out of his one-year Turf Moor deal and to the MKM Stadium before Monday's 11pm deadline.

The Republic of Ireland international penned a one-year deal with Scott Parker's side back in the summer, but has started only one game among seven appearances, finding himself on the bench in the other 19 league games.
Burnley have only conceded nine goals all season and Egan has found it tough to break into Parker's incredibly resolute defensive unit, and is keen to play.
City see him as a player with vast experience and one who can provide valuable competition to Alfie Jones, Sean McLoughlin, Fin Burns and Charlie Hughes whilst allowing Andy Smith to go out on loan.
Egan, who came through the ranks at Sunderland before going on to play for the likes of Gillingham and Brentford before his big move to Bramall Lane, has over 400 career appearances to his name, with half coming in the Championship and 73 in the Premier League. He's also been capped 36 times by his country.
Elsewhere, City are still working on bringing in cover on the left side of their defence, with a left-back remaining high on the list of priorities after missing out on Charlie Taylor, and if there is to be late movement, that's where they will look to add.
