Ruben Selles says he left Ryan Giles and Ryan Longman out of his squad at Millwall after deeming neither were in the right frame of mind to be involved.

Neither player travelled to London for the game, which saw Hull City claim their second straight away win with a battling 1-0 success against the Lions, courtesy of a Jake Cooper own goal just before the hour mark.

City are in talks with Middlesbrough over sealing a permanent exit for the 24-year-old left-back, while Oxford United want Longman.

It's likely both of those deals will be wrapped up next week, with City keen to free up finance and space in their squad for new arrivals.

"Those two are my decision," Selles told Hull Live. "That's what I can tell you. That was my decision that they were not in the squad, and I didn't detect that they were ready to perform for us.

"I want players here and now that can perform one hundred per cent for the team, and that's my decision."

Meanwhile, the Tigers will face a nervous wait to find out the extent of the injury which forced skipper Lewie Coyle off in the first half, and whether he will be involved against QPR on Tuesday evening. Coyle rattled into a heavy challenge, winning the ball, but hurt his ankle and was due to go to the hospital to have it cleared up and checked out.

"It's a double thing; it was one (impact) on the ankle. That's the first thing, and then he also has a cut on the ankle, so there are two different issues with the ankle. The doctors took him (to the hospital), but it was something that, as the doctor explained to me, they could not do at the stadium.

"They need to go to a place where it can be done, where everything is clean, so that is in the hospital. It can be nothing and become nothing, which means Lewie is available for Tuesday, or it can become a little bit of something, so we need to wait."
