Hull City boss speaks out on Abdus Omur future after transfer deal
Ruben Selles hasn't closed the door on Abdus Omur's Hull City future, but says the 25-year-old needed to leave to play games after a frustrating few months.
The Turkish international returned to his homeland to join Super Lig outfit Çaykur Rizespor on loan for the remainder of the season, though there is no option in that deal to make it permanent at the end of the season.
Omur joined City from Trabzonspor last January in a deal worth around £2m, penning a contract until 2027 with the option of a further 12 months. But he struggled to make an impact in East Yorkshire, playing 37 times without scoring a competitive goal, and collecting just three assists. His sole goal came in a 2-2 friendly draw against Fiorentina in pre-season.

His last outing for the Tigers came on New Year's Day in the 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough and has been struggling with illness and a knee injury, which hampered any hope of him making an impact, before City signed a host of attacking players to further push him down the pecking order.
Selles says the club will look again at the situation in the summer when he will re-assess the future of a host of players, both under contract and those with options, like Joao Pedro.
"The way that the squad were going and the configuration of the squad and the way that we play, it was almost reducing his playing time to zero, and that's not ideal, so we found a club that he was comfortable with to go and play and, we wish him all the best," Selles told Hull Live.
"He can go, he can play there, he can express himself as a football player and, then, when the season is finished, we will need to reevaluate the situation."
