Hull City fans have been left frustrated at the latest fixture change which will cause some significant travel disruption to those hoping to back Ruben Selles' side later this month.

For the third time, the Tigers' crucial trip to fellow strugglers Cardiff City has been given a different date, with fans given less than two weeks' notice for the latest re-arranged fixture.

Originally scheduled for last Saturday, February 8, the game in the principality was moved to accommodate the Bluebirds' FA Cup Fourth Round tie at Stoke City, which they won, and scheduled for Wednesday, February 26.

Owing to the FA's scheduling of the Fifth Round, Cardiff face a trip to Aston Villa on Friday, February 28, so City have agreed to push their league meeting back 24 hours to Tuesday, February 25.

That has left some City fans frustrated at the late change, having already booked time off work and hotels for the long trek to the Welsh capital for an evening game.

Despite City's lack of involvement in the competition this season after being dumped out by League Two Doncaster Rovers in the Third Round, their rivals' progression has had a major impact on their fixture list.

Not only has the trip to Cardiff been rearranged again, but Plymouth Argyle's exploits last weekend against Liverpool means their clash at the MKM Stadium on March 1 will now not take place.

That game against the rejuvenated Pilgrims has yet to be given a new date, but will likely take place in a free midweek in the coming weeks, with the upcoming international break and Easter weekend posing a challenge meaning it could be as late as mid-April before the pair face off.

Those able to travel from Hull to Cardiff will still be able to benefit from free coach travel courtesy of the Tigers, with the club offering complimentary travel with every match ticket purchased.
