Hull City head coach Ruben Selles fires transfer warning to potential new recruits
Ruben Selles has issued a stark warning to potential new recruits thinking of coming to Hull City in the remaining weeks of the January window.
City are likely to be one of the busiest clubs in the Championship between now and when the window shuts at 11pm on February 3, with at least five new arrivals, potentially as many as seven or eight. A host of of first team players are also expected to leave to free up space in the squad and on the wage bill.
Given the Tigers perilous league position inside the bottom three, attracting players is no easy task. But work has been going on behind the scenes to target the right type of characters, ones with Championship experience, and ones capable of coming in and having an instant impact.

Though the Tigers have been offered tens of players by eager agents keen to get their players a move to the Championship, Selles says it's vital City are selective about who they bring in. He says the performance against Leeds United is an example of what he wants to see from his side.
"I'm going to say it again: I don't want anyone that is not ready here to come and fight, and that's the way that we are going to do it," the Spaniard told Hull Live.
"So when I sit with the potential targets, and I explain why we do it (against Leeds), it is an example of it: we need to be ultra-competitive and to be ultra-competitive, you need to work really hard.
"We are at a level of football that we assume that you have the football (ability) to play at that level, but we are at a level that if you have this ultra competitiveness and you are this ultra-aggressive in possession against the ball, you can make the difference.
"That's what we demand from the players, and that's what we showed (against Leeds). This performance is just 'if you want to know what we do, this is what we do'. Either be up to the challenge or better you say no or better still, we don't take you."
