Hull City are interested in signing Brazilian playmaker Lincoln Henrique, Hull Live understands. Multiple outlets in Turkey have suggested Tigers owner Acun Ilicali is working on a deal that will see the Fenerbahce player join the Championship club on loan until the end of the season.

Lincoln, who can be deployed through the middle or on the wing, has been deemed surplus to requirements by Jose Mourinho. The €4.0m-rated attacker has spent time on loan at Red Bull Bragantino in his homeland. The 26-year-old notched three goals and two assists in 28 games before returning to Istanbul last month. Bragantino opted against triggering their buyout option to sign Lincoln in €6 million during last season's mid-season transfer window.

Lincoln's present contract at Fenerbahce runs until the summer of 2026. But Ilicali, the vice-president of Fenerbahce, is keen to bolster City's attacking options to boost their survival hopes.

The Tigers, currently 22nd in the Championship table, completed their first January signing yesterday. Attacking midfielder Matt Crooks arrived from MLS outfit Real Salt Lake. The former Middlesbrough man, who penned a two-year-deal, said: “I’m buzzing to finally get it done and excited to get started.

“I said to my agent I wanted to explore coming back to England and playing over here. I got a phone call from Jared (Dublin, the Sporting Director) and that’s how it started.

“I’m grateful to Salt Lake for the experience and what they were able to give me; it was something I always wanted to do as a kid and that’s one thing ticked off that I always wanted to do.

“I’m thankful I went over but also happy to be here. I learned a lot about myself and I’m trying to be a leader.

“The club’s got ambition, the chairman’s got ambition. Although it’s been a difficult start to the season for the lads, I’m sure we can push on and I’m here to help the best way I can. I’m looking forward to it and I’ll always give 100 per cent for the club while I’ve got the shirt on.”
