New Hull City recruit backed to make step up after big-money transfer
Striker Kyle Joseph can flourish at Hull City under Ruben Selles, according to former Wolves striker Don Goodman. The Sky Sports pundit believes the Tigers boss can help the 23-year-old find consistency.
Joseph was handed a first start on Friday night as he led the line brilliantly at Sheffield United for 65 minutes before he was sacrificed for veteran forward Joao Pedro, who then carved out the third goal which saw Harrison Burrows turn into his own net two minutes from time with Abu Kamara lurking.
City paid £2.5m for the Blackpool forward after a fine start to the season in League One which saw Joseph net seven times for Steve Bruce's side, but some have questioned whether or not he will be able to make the step up and fire the goals the Tigers need in their quest to survive.

His workmanlike, energetic display at Bramall Lane, albeit without having much chance in front of goal, showed why City were so keen to snap him up in January, and Goodman believes Selles has the power to make a big impact on his career.
"I've not seen loads of him. On the numbers, he's not the most prolific of striker," Goodman said in conversation with Casino.co.uk. "He's in line to have his best ever season with eight goals so far, but he's still young enough to improve, especially under a coach like Selles, who can eke more consistency out of him.
"He had a loan spell at Swansea where he scored no goals from 10 appearances, his last time at this level. He's coming into a more positive environment now at Hull compared to what he'd have faced a few weeks ago, so hopefully, it can be a beneficial move for both parties."
