Hull City head coach Ruben Selles is keen to reduce the size of his squad over the coming months. A look at the number of names on the player list at the MKM Stadium shows the size of that task.

City will say goodbye to a flurry of players this summer with the likes of Dogukan Sinik and Brandon Fleming set to leave when their contracts expire at the end of the season. Like last term, their loan players will also return to their parent clubs, unless permanent deals are struck for those with options to make them permanent.

Key to some of their transfer work in the past few months has been signing players on permanent, long-term deals, which gives the squad continuity and reduces the need for another major summer churn of incomings. It will also mean Selles starts the summer in a stronger position than Tim Walter inherited 12 months prior when his squad was wafer-thin.

The Spaniard wants to operate with much smaller squad next season and that will shape much of the work done this summer, while there's a host of contract decisions to be made with no fewer than 11 players heading into their final 12 months.
