Ryan Longman admits he is "over the moon" to have joined Wrexham for an undisclosed fee from Hull City. The winger has penned a deal until the end of the 2026/27 season, with the option of an additional 12 months.

Longman watched his new club in action last night as Wrexham secured a hard-fought point at home to promotion rivals Birmingham City last night. He said in a statement on Wrexham's club website: “I’m over the moon and so glad that the deal is over the line.

“I’m really looking forward to being a part of this journey. I came to watch the game last night and the atmosphere was incredible.”

Longman, who progressed through the ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion before joining City on a permanent deal in the summer 2022 after a season-long loan with East Yorkshire club, is Wrexham's first signing of the January transfer window. “We’re delighted to bring Ryan to the club," said boss Phil Parkinson. "He’s an exciting young player and I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Longman leaves the MKM Stadium, having scored eight goals in 82 appearances for the Tigers. A City statement read: "We would like to thank Ryan for his hard work and dedication during his time at the MKM Stadium and wish him well for the future.

The 24-year-old could make his Wrexham debut next Tuesday when they go head-to-head with Stevenage. Parkinson's side are currently third in League One, two points off the automatic promotion places.
