Hull City winger Ryan Longman is the subject of late interest from ambitious League One promotion hopefuls Wrexham as he nears the exit door at the MKM Stadium.

Longman is understood to be set for a medical at Oxford United on Tuesday ahead of his proposed move to the Kassam Stadium where he would link up once again with Gary Rowett, the manager who took him to Millwall last summer when ex-City boss Liam Rosenior sanctioned his season-long loan exit.

The terms of his permanent move to Oxford have all been agreed, with City's Championship rivals paying a six-figure fee to get him out of his contract this month, with that due to expire at the end of the season.

City head coach Ruben Selles has made it clear that Longman can move on, having withdrawn him from the squad which won 1-0 at The Den on Saturday, while he's clearly not involved for the Tuesday night meeting with QPR with his move away from Eats Yorkshire imminent.

Wrexham's late interest in Longman has complicated matters slightly, but, as it stands, it's expected the 24-year-old former Brighton and Hove Albion winger will still complete a permanent move to link up with Rowett.

Elsewhere, the Tigers expect Ryan Giles to complete his move to Middlesbrough this week with a final agreement close to being ratified. Talks are ongoing between the club and Swedish outfit AIK over a move for midfielder Xavier Simons.

In terms of incoming, it's expected both Lincoln Henrique and Eliot Matazo will have their loan and permanent moves to the MKM Stadium confirmed in the next day or so, with everything agreed with Fenerbahce and Monacon, respectively, but the path to sign Sorba Thomas is a little more complex with his loan club Nantes fighting tooth and nail to keep him in France, despite the Tigers agreeing a fee with parent club Huddersfield Town and the Welsh international himself.
