Hull FC among frontrunners for Magic Weekend sales as big milestone reached
Hull FC are amongst Super League's frontrunners for Magic Weekend ticket sales. The Black and Whites faithful are in the top five sales for 2025's event, which sees the concept move back to Newcastle United's St James' Park for the eighth time.
Returning to the Toon, the Magic Weekend is back in the northeast after a one-year hiatus at Leeds' Elland Road, with the six-game rugby league festival returning to 'its spiritual home'—having first played in the city, which was unavailable to host last season, ten years ago this year.
In fact, the 2015 event at St James' Park remains the biggest single-day attendance in the concept's history, with the record aggregate crowd coming the year after. And with less than 100 days to go to the 2025 event, staged on the Bank Holiday weekend of May 3-4, the latest ticket sales have been released, with over 20,000 sold.

Showing its popularity, Newcastle will proudly host Magic once again on its 18th birthday, having first come to the rugby league calendar in 2007. It's been ever-present, barring the Covid-interrupted year of 2020; ever since, with Hull joined by Wigan Warriors, Castleford Tigers, Wakefield Trinity, and Leeds Rhinos in the highest ticket sales.
Of course, Wakefield and Castleford will meet in Super League again for the first time since 2023, adding some spice to the event. Meanwhile, Wigan meet Las Vegas opponents Warrington Wolves, St Helens face Leeds Rhinos, and Hull come up against Huddersfield Giants.
"Over 20,000 tickets have already been sold since Magic Weekend was announced as returning back to its spiritual home of St. James’ Park," RL Commerical confirmed in a statement. "Wigan Warriors, Wakefield Trinity, Castleford Tigers, Hull FC, and Leeds Rhinos are currently the top five best-selling clubs as the countdown to the first weekend in May well and truly begins."
