Hull FC will head to York Acorn in the third round of the Challenge Cup next month—the Black and Whites’ first tie against community club opposition since 1998.

John Cartwright will take his side to face the National Conference League opponent on the road, with the fixture venue, date, and kick-off yet to be confirmed. The tie will be played on the weekend of 7/8/9 February.

Acorn defeated Oulton Raiders 22-2 on Saturday to set up the tie against Hull FC. The Blue and Gold outfit play at Acorn Sports & Social Club, Thanet Road. However, York Knights' LNER Stadium, a venue they share with football club York City (who are at home on the same weekend) remains an option that the clubs are exploring.

In the South of England, London-based community club Wests Warriors will host Super League side Leeds Rhinos after defeating the British Army 36-18. Wests play at Wasps FC in Acton. Goole Vikings will also host Wakefield Trinity at the Victoria Pleasure Ground after beating London Broncos 17-10 on Saturday. Fixture and venue details will all be confirmed in due course.
