Hull FC name squad for Castleford Tigers clash with eight new signings included
John Cartwright has named a 28-man Hull FC squad ahead of Saturday's pre-season clash at Castleford Tigers. The Black and Whites take on Super League opposition in their one and only pre-season clash, with the contest doubling up as Joe Westerman's testimonial game.
Cartwright, meanwhile, has included several new signings in Hull's squad, with Jordan Rapana, Zak Hardaker, Aidan Sezer, Amir Bourouh, John Asiata, Cade Cust, and Hugo Salabio all set to run out in club colours for the first team. Ed Chamberlain is also set to feature having made his loan move permanent for 2025 and beyond.
New signing Oliver Holmes isn't risked. The forward is training, but given his knee issue at Leigh Leopards last year, the club have opted to leave him out. Yusuf Aydin is also absent due to the one-match suspension picked up in the final round of last year. On the injury front, Hull are also without Davy Litten (MCL), Jack Charles (ankle), Matty Laidlaw (MCL), Nick Staveley (ACL), and Roman Dawson (ACL).

Elsewhere, the likes of Jed Cartwright, Jack Ashworth, and Jordan Lane are all included, with Tom Briscoe, Ligi Sao, and Brad Fash all in the mix. Fash has recently recovered from an ankle issue and is fit to play.
Young guns Denive Balmforth, Logan Moy, Lewis Martin, and Harvey Barron are all set for action, with Hull including last season's final round debutants Ryan Westerman and Callum Kemp. Training with the first-team this pre-season, five members of the Elite Talent Group will also get runouts, with Lennon Clark, Will Hutchinson, Lloyd Kemp, Will Kirby, Joe Ward all set for some welcome minutes.
Meanwhile, Castleford have named a skinnier squad of 20 players, with Danny McGurie expecting an improved showing following last week's 32-8 defeat at Wakefield Trinity. Westerman is included for his big day, and is joined by former Hull players Tex Hoy, Liam Watts, and Josh Simm.
