Hull FC's Challenge Cup venue as side set to meet York Acorn at familiar site
Hull FC will play their Challenge Cup third-round tie against York Acorn at a neutral venue. The Black and Whites will take on community club opposition for the first time since the 1998 season, meeting the National Conference League outfit on Saturday 8 February.
The tie will kick-off at 2 p.m. and will be held at Featherstone Rovers' Millennium Stadium. Doncaster's ECO Power Stadium also considered, with Acorn's home ground having too many 'stipulations' placed in front of it to meet League One standards and host a top-tier side. Meanwhile, York's premier facility, LNER Stadium, is unavailable due to a York City Football Club fixture.
Hull last visited the traditionally named Post Office Road ground in 2022 for a Challenge Cup tie against Sheffield Eagles. They also played cup games at the venue against Featherstone Rovers in both the 2021 and 2018 seasons.

The cup meeting will be new head coach John Cartwright's first competitive game in charge of Hull FC, with the Australian arriving on a three-year deal ahead of 2025. The club's new boss has already told Hull Live he will respect the fixture and field a strong squad of first-team players. The club is set for their one and only pre-season fixture against Castleford Tigers this Saturday afternoon, with the cup tie following suit the weekend after.
The club then open their Super League account in Perpignan on Friday the 14th, taking on Catalans Dragons, with the cup tie not interfering with the club's preparation and travel plans ahead of the fixture. They will have adequate time to recover and then gear up for their trip across the channel as planned, flying out on the Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, West Hull's clash against St Helens has also been confirmed. The National Conference League outfit will host the Saints at Hull KR's Craven Park on Saturday 8 February, clashing with the Black and Whites tie.
