Hull FC have assembled a 30-man senior squad for the 2025 season, with a further ten young players training with the first-team this pre-season.

There has been an abundance of change, with over 20 players departing as Richie Myler puts his stamp on the club after arriving as Director of Rugby back in April. In total, ten new signings have been made, with the club, now coached by John Cartwright, still open to further recruitment. They are chasing Salford Red Devils outside back Deon Cross as they look to add the finishing touches to their squad, with the signing of Hugo Salabio’s confirmed prior to Christmas.

The club also have a new Elite Talent group containing some of the brightest young players around, including Will Kirby, who made his Super League debut back in July, not to mention three players who were also handed first-team squad numbers in Ryan Westerman, Jack Charles, and Callum Kemp.

Here, Hull Live looks at that squad and how it’s shaping up to date.

Full-backs: 2
Jordan Rapana, Logan Moy

Hull are set to call on the experienced and ultimate competitor Jordan Rapana for the full-back position, but don’t be surprised if the Kiwi doubles up as a winger next season. If anything, this is down to the form of Logan Moy this pre-season, who has impressed many figures at training with his attitude and skillset. The teenager had a solid breakthrough year in 2024, and he looks likely to kick on once again in 2025.

Wingers: 3
Harvey Barron, Tom Briscoe, Lewis Martin

Tall and athletic winger Harvey Barron was rewarded for a strong second half of the season with the number two shirt. He is also the most natural for the right wing spot, with Lewis Martin, who had an outstanding campaign, and Tom Briscoe, who returned to the club in April, both preferring the left wing position.

Centres: 4
Zak Hardaker, Ed Chamberlain, Davy Litten, Ryan Westerman

Hull are keen to add to their outside backs this off-season, with Deon Cross a player of interest. To date, they have four players for the two spots: two new signings in Ed Chamberlain and Zak Hardaker, and two young guns in Davy Litten and Ryan Westerman. It’s hoped that the latter two can be the long-term successors, with both having the attitude and talent to go far in the game.

Half-backs: 5
Jordan Abdull, Aidan Sezer, Cade Cust, Jack Charles, Callum Kemp

Hull have gone for a completely new direction in the halves, with Jordan Abdull and Aidan Sezer set to be an experienced first choice pair. Expect Sezer to be the dominant half-back on the right edge, with Abdull pulling the strings on the left. Elsewhere, Cade Cust can provide backup at both half and hooker, while the club have two up-and-coming talents in the shape of Jack Charles and Callum Kemp to call on.

Props: 8
Herman Ese'ese, Ligi Sao, Yusuf Aydin, Jack Ashworth, Brad Fash, Will Gardiner, Matty Laidlaw, Hugo Salabio

The signing of Hugo Salabio boosts Hull’s senior prop options to eight, with Herman Ese’ese and Ligi Sao likely to get the starting nods. Elsewhere, Hull have hardworking duo Jack Ashworth and Yusuf Aydin, with Brad Fash looking to put ankle injury troubles behind him. Will Gardiner and Matty Laidlaw will also be looking for big years.

Hookers: 2
Amir Bourouh, Denive Balmforth

Hull will have a new hooker in 2025, with Amir Bourouh signed to lead the side from dummy-half. He will be supported by Denive Balmforth, who made a fair impression last season. Elsewhere, Cust can also double up as a hooker, offering support to the position.

Back-rowers: 5
Jed Cartwright, Jordan Lane, Oliver Holmes, Zach Jebson, Nick Staveley,

Hull have added some much-needed seniority to their back row next year, not to mention specialist players in the positions. A lot of eyes will be on Jed Cartwright to see how he progresses after an encouraging cameo last year. The same can be said for reigning Player of the Year Jordan Lane, who will look to kick on again, with sincere competition coming in the form of Oliver Holmes, not to mention two promising young players in Zach Jebson and Nick Staveley.

Loose-forwards: 1
John Asiata

The Samoan international was Hull’s first marquee signing of 2024 and is expected to change the way the side plays in 2025. A link between the halves and/or full-back, Asiata is an out and out ball player as well as a ferocious carrier of the ball. He’s something Hull haven’t had in a long time, adding elite leadership and drive to the club, with the likes of Fash, Lane, or Holmes potentially spelling him in the role next year.

Elite Talent Group: 10
Jordon Baker, Lennon Clark, Roman Dawson, Owen Haldenby, Will Hutchinson, Ben Johnson, Lloyd Kemp, Will Kirby, Cobie Wainhouse, Joe Ward
