Hull KR will hand trials to two players during the club's Amsterdam adventure. The Robins have named a 20-man squad for their first and only pre-season friendly ahead of the 2025 campaign, in what is set to be a historic event for the club as they play York in the Netherlands.

Willie Peters' squad features a blend of first-team players and younger talent but two standout names on the list are trialists. Luke Phoenix and Aaron Powell are both set for a run-out in the game after spending some time with the Robins.

Both players have been on trial with the club since the end of last year after impressing for England Universities. Phoenix is a product of the Leicester Tigers Academy while Powell stood out playing for Warwick University. He has also featured for Leamington Royals in the 13-man game.

Both will now get a chance to impress against Championship opposition this weekend and another player rewarded is academy talent Freddie Watts, who is also set to be handed an opportunity after showing impressive signs of progress. The halfback is in his second year at academy level.

From a first-team perspective, Jack Broadbent and Kelepi Tanginoa are the standout inclusions, having both featured in last year's Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford. They are joined by Danny Richardson, Jack Brown and Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e while there's also a first chance to impress for Lee Kershaw, Eribe Doro, Bill Leyland and Leon Ruan following their off-season arrivals.
