Hull KR forward Zach Fishwick will start the season playing in the Championship. The forward will enhance his first-team experience after securing a move to the second tier.

Fishwick will be linking up with Hunslet, who are back in the competition after securing promotion through the play-offs. The West Yorkshire outfit produced an admirable display during their Challenge Cup defeat to Huddersfield Giants and are hoping to consolidate their position during the coming season.

Fishwick made his debut for Rovers in 2022 and made seven appearances that season, but hasn't featured since the arrival of Willie Peters. Instead, he has featured in reserve grade and the Championship, playing for the club's dual-reg partners, Featherstone Rovers, and Bradford Bulls.

He will link up with a Hunslet squad that features some notable former, and future, Robins. Greg Eden and Kevin Larroyer have both linked up with Dean Muir's side for the 2025 season while new recruit Noah Booth is on a season-long loan at the club.

Hunslet start the campaign at Barrow Raiders this weekend, before hosting Bradford Bulls in round two. From a Rovers perspective, Fishwick is the third player to be loaned out in the space of a week. Lennie Ellis has joined League 1 outfit Goole Vikings while halfback Danny Richardson has joined Huddersfield Giants on a rolling loan. He is due to make his debut against Warrington Wolves this weekend.

Rovers are keen for their younger talent to head to the lower leagues this year to continue their development and to prove themselves. Phoenix Laulu-Togaga'e successfully did that last year for Oldham, and Rovers want more examples of that this year.
