Hull KR half-back Danny Richardson secures loan move to Super League rival
Hull KR half-back Danny Richardson has joined Huddersfield Giants with immediate effect. Hull Live understands that the 28-year-old made the move to West Yorkshire earlier this week and is expected to line up for Luke Robinson's side for their Super League opener against Warrington Wolves later this month.
However, Richardson won't play against Championship outfit Hunslet in the third-round of the Challenge Cup this weekend, with Rovers not wanting to make the player cup tied should he be requied later in the competition.
The loan is understood to be short-term at this stage, with Huddersfield pushing for players having had a disrupted pre-season full of injuries. That has seen issues for both half-backs, Tui Lolohea and Adam Clune, with the Giants also losing new recruit Taane Milne, who is back in Australia for the birth of his child, and George King to a long-term injury.

Meanwhile, Richardson joined Rovers from Castleford Tigers midway through last season and made two appearances for the club, also playing for the reserves side. He came through the ranks at St Helens and made his debut in the 2017 season and has also had playing spells at Sheffield Eagles and Leigh Leopards. He has made a total of 120 appearances in his career to date.
He is the second Hull KR player to head out on loan after Lennie Ellis joined new League 1 outfit Goole Vikings earlier this week.
