Hull KR prove overseas games are the future with commercial success made clear
Hull KR are celebrating the commercial success of the Amsterdam Challenge after their overseas adventure made double the profit of their 2024 trial game.
Rovers' trip to the Netherlands has now come to an end, for this year at least, with the club now reflecting on the trip and plans for the future.
From a financial perspective, it has certainly been a success, with profit margins twice exceeding those recorded when Rovers hosted Sheffield Eagles at Craven Park last year.

The attendance of last year's game was higher, with 3,700 recorded for the game against the Eagles compared to 2,715 in the Netherlands.
However, with additional commercial partnerships and extensive retail sales, the club has been able to make significantly more money from the trip overseas, despite all the additional costs that came with staging the fixture in another country.
Rovers secured partnerships with the likes of Rugbyleague.com, Match Worn Shirts, ABK Beer and Oxen which came with benefits while the additional retail revenue from their Netherlands merchandise proved to be another successful exercise.
The club will now start working on next year's event and finding ways to make the event bigger and better, both from a fan experience perspective and commercially.
