Hull KR's Amsterdam Challenge will smash records this weekend as the Robins begin to make a splash in the Netherlands. Rovers' European adventure takes place this weekend as they take on York Knights as part of their new innovation that Rovers hope will help build their brand in years to come.

The trip, the first as part of a multi-year strategy for the Robins to take the club on the road, will see Rovers take their full matchday experience to a new location, with a Craven Streat-style atmosphere set to welcome both local and overseas fans.

And the fixture is set to break a rugby league record, with ticket sales set to see their game surpass the Netherlands' previous attendance record. A crowd of around 2,500 is expected for the game, with the Robins set to welcome a number of their own supporters.

Encouragingly, over half of the tickets sold for the game have been purchased by local residents while a group of German supporters are also heading to the game.

Rovers are already in the area, with the club's foundation delivering rugby league sessions to local school children. That is a big part of Rovers' project, with over 1,000 children set to be coached rugby league by the club for the first time this week.

Beyond that, Rovers will be visiting local clubs to enhance their development, with the club donating rugby league equipment to both the local clubs and schools throughout the week.

Rovers hope their presence will have a lasting impact on rugby league in the area, which is already coming to fruition with a first-ever origin series, which will see Men and Women's team from the east and west of the country competing, which will be showcased before Rovers' game against the Knights.

The Robins are expected to name their squad later this week to take on a York side they could face again in a few weeks after being placed in the same segment of the Challenge Cup draw.
