Hurricane Milton: Tracking impact of major hurricane on college football in Week 7
For the second time in three weeks, the state of Florida is facing a major hurricane.
As of Tuesday morning, Hurricane Milton has reached Category 4 status and is angling toward the Tampa area and then Orlando. On Thursday, Sept. 26, Hurricane Helene made landfall in the Big Bend region of Florida, which affected the college sports schedule.
Milton reached Category 5 status on Monday, rapidly intensifying from a tropical storm to the highest category for a hurricane in a short time. Hurricane Milton reached the fourth-highest recorded pressure by a hurricane ever on Monday.

Both Florida State and Miami football have their bye weeks during Week 7, and Florida football travels to Knoxville, Tennessee, to take on Tennessee. However, South Florida and Central Florida have home games scheduled in Tampa and Orlando, respectively, which could be impacted by the incoming storm.

12:00 p.m.: According to 247 Sports' Graham Hall, Florida football coach Billy Napier's Wednesday media availability has been canceled for this week due to Hurricane Milton.

11:42 a.m.: UCF athletics announced the alteration of its schedule for non-football sports on Tuesday, including volleyball, men's and women's soccer. UCF's football game against Cincinnati remains scheduled for 3:30 p.m. from FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando. However, coach Gus Malzahn's Thursday’s Knight Talk Radio Show has been canceled.
11:39 a.m.: The American Athletic Conference announced that the game between Memphis and USF football has been postponed until 3:30 p.m. The game was initially scheduled for Friday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
