Ian Wright makes Arsenal January transfer window demand amid worrying admission
Arsenal legend Ian Wright has demanded that Stan Kroenke and the rest of the boardroom green light transfers in the January window despite it being notoriously difficult to strengthen during the halfway point of the campaign.
The Gunners are currently at risk of going another season without a trophy. Mikel Arteta's side are six points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool and are 2-0 down after the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Newcastle United.
On Sunday, they face one of the tougher opponents in the third round of the FA Cup when they host Manchester United. While they are currently progressing well in the Champions League, it is likely to be a major challenge to win the European competition for the first time.

Speaking to ITV Sport, Wright pleaded with the powers that be at Arsenal to back Arteta this winter. "When you look at Arsenal, you have to say last year that they definitely benefitted from that break they had," the former striker said.
"You look at this season with the extra Carabao Cup games and Champions League games, there has been injuries in the squad. I think it is really testing them.
"If I am being totally honest, I think the manager needs some help. Something has got to happen for him in January.
"I believe that some kind of signing should be made to boost things or bring someone in, as difficult as it is at this stage." Moves for players in forward positions have been rumoured for Arsenal this January.
A centre-forward is thought to be the main target while a winger has also been listed as a priority.
